We live in a beautiful amazing world - the blue/green planet harboring life and the vast universe with stars and galaxies and fireworks.
All the complexity of life and the infinite loop of generations coming and going and keeping busy with challenges, makes us all wonder who created all this? Are we alone in the universe? What is the purpose of all this? Definitely the creator should be much more beautiful and amazing!
Looking into the past - what people did to get the answers - seems a very few had cracked it with out-of-box approaches. Can the answers be grasped by the rest of us? Sure. Everything we can see is an object and we are fixated on all the objects around us - an object oriented world indeed. This fixation leads us from questions to questions to more questions. Solve one and another springs up, in an infinite loop without end. But who is the subject here? Nobody seems to be concerned about the subject - who is the seer and ask er? What happens when the focus shifts to the subject? Is our body the subject? Who sees all these objects? The eyes? But it is just a tool, is it not?
If anything we see is an object, our bodies also become objects. Body is an Eco-system, made of bones, flesh etc. with lot of germs and dirt. It cannot be the subject. The subject seems to be within the body - is the ego "I" the subject then? Why the search for the subject? Because we cannot be any of the objects and we are the subject!
So we don’t know ourselves - the subject, and we are running around falsely identifying ourselves with the body, trying to solve all other questions!
There is something within the body that sees everything inside out, it sees all our thoughts - including the ego "I" sense, desires, wish lists, and through the sense organs sees everything outside the body. What is it - the silent observer within? This sense of presence or awareness is beyond everything - thoughts, mind, consciousness - everything becomes an object to it. Since we all have this within us, this might be a bigger fabric containing everything else!
So have we found the subject then? The few who cracked this before, say no, not yet. There is something beyond this awareness, which cannot be explained or understood - beyond words and thought and understanding. A completely different dimension! When we get fixated on awareness, we get pulled into this dimension. This along with our known world represent the two dimensions, both so complete, that one cannot be imagined to exist from the other! Transcending the known world in to this dimension immediately makes us aware of everything - as if we suddenly explode into everything, bringing tremendous joy, bliss and universal, unconditional love!
That’s why the people who cracked this before - all the great saints of great religions - were so kind and full of love for everything, referring to this dimension as God. So convenient! Long ago when God was asked his name, the reply came as "I AM" - meaning pure existence. This dimension is pure existence, knowledge and bliss. So beyond our mortal bodies, we all are one and the same - DIVINE. Kingdom of Heaven within us. And all this world becomes a play or a sport. Experiencing this is the ultimate evolution.
Body can be compared to the hardware in an electric bulb, with mind/consciousness like the filament. The light (awareness) is different though and it is everywhere and can exist without the bulb. But don’t miss the invisible electricity.
So the secret then, is to shift gears and focus on the subject by inquiring within - who is the seer? To whom these thoughts arise?
To sit quiet and be with the sense "I AM" and to find where the first thought - the ego "I" springs from. It is said - constantly searching within thus - frequently reminding ourselves about the subject, ultimately leads to enlightenment. We all are born with the greatest laboratory ever to accomplish this - the Mind.
Tools and Techniques to help with this search were defined - like serving humanity, prayers, meditation, good habits, exercises like yogasanas and others, that can calm down the Mind and turn it inwards to get to the source of thought.
All the objects exist only to push us inward. A Mother buys so many toys for her child and watches over as the child plays, at the same time she longs for the child to drop them all and come back to hug her. Similarly, God is waiting and helps us by providing more bodies/births so we may complete this quest. God might move us all to another planet too, if needed!
Let’s incorporate this search in our daily life. It is recommended to do this search at least twice – during night before sleep and after waking up in the morning, so the brain can keep working on it when we are asleep.
Good luck and Happy Journey!!!
